"Flyboy is FAA certified insane" (flyboy396)

This article greeted me when I was looking for the service tab:
They also mentioned some bullshit about AWD being better for the spring and fall wet roads here in Florida, and “gravel road and parking lot piece of mind”As well as a mild caution to not take your new AWD challenger to the sands, as it will not have the grip with its “summer performance” tires.
Now that I think about it though this might actually give some people a reason to buy one down here if RWD scares them for whatever reason. Also mentioned in the article was the fact that the Hellcat and SRT models don’t get AWD this year but to wait for 2018 to see.

yup. And the rage I feel towards both those names AND their similarity is way stronger than it ought to be.

So it’s a v6 challenger with awd.
What is exciting about this again?

Lol @ “gravel road and parking lot peace of mind.” It’s like they found someone who’s never driven a car to write that ad. I’ve been on plenty of gravel roads and parking lots and only once did I wish I had AWD (it was on a camping trip and my car just refused to go up the hill). For snowy conditions, this thing is gonna be a beast.

I am seriously considering one for a DD. If I lived in florida I would just buy RWD though.

Why though? You can’t do glorious smoky burnouts with AWD.

My roomate has a 2014 V6 as a DD. It’s very comfortable, and the leather seats are nice, but if you’re looking for premium quality or any sort of “sporty” driving dynamics then look elsewhere. It feels like a Dodge ram. And not in the good way.

If you want a comfortable, AWD 2-door cruiser a V6 challenger is the car to go with. My roomate’s 2014 is a beast at crossing Florida quickly with 28 ish mpg.
I kinda expected more of a “performance” feel from a car like this but it’s just not at all like that. Long distance cruiser, only. City MPG is horrible at about 15

tbh I am really not liking most of my options. My mini has kind of turned me off to the whole “hot hatch” thing and I have no desire to maintain a subaru. I also won’t really have the money to drop on a more expensive car when I go to buy.

Used and CPO Challengers are relatively inexpensive, luckily.

Sounds like my Mustang. It’ll eat the hell out of the highway with about 30mpg, but with the way I drive in the city I see about 13mpg.

Your roomies 2014 is not an AWD though.

I figure the awd challenger won’t be much more expensive than the base given the proliferation of tech.

Actually if they’re going with it only being on the “GT” trim level, the other Dodge cars with “GT” trim levels are kinda high priced due to options
